The design for a new sports and community hall in Marston Moretaine has been revealed.
The facility, which will also feature an outdoor cricket pitch and football area, will be built at the Marston Park development.
Work is expected to begin on the building this summer and, once completed, it will be run by Marston Moretaine Parish Council.
Developers Barratt Homes are constructing the hall under the 106 agreement attached to its 465-home development in the village. It has received additional funding from the parish council to extend the kitchen and provide a smaller meeting room.
Parish council clerk Hazel Trustam said: “This is an extremely good thing for the village, especially the new development, and will be a great asset to the growing community.
“The parish council has worked extremely closely with Barratt Homes to get the best layout for the building. Barratt Homes was very good at listening to the council.”
With a badminton court, changing rooms with showers, and a function room with kitchen facilities, residents will be able to use it as a sports hall and community centre.
