A man suffered severe leg injuries after a three vehicle road collision on the A1 this morning. (Monday)
At around 8.10am air ambulance charity Magpas Helimedix arrived at the A1 southbound, near Wyboston, via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW.
A truck, a van and a car had been involved in a serious road traffic collision.
The Magpas team worked alongside fire and rescue crews to safely remove a man, in his 20s, from one of the vehicles after he was trapped inside.
The Helimedix sedated the patient, who suffered severe leg injuries, and administered advanced pain relief.
The team then accompanied the man in a land ambulance to Bedford Hospital, where on arrival he was in a stable condition.
A man in his 30s and a man in his 60s were also assessed by Magpas.
Fortunately both patients suffered only minor injuries and the East of England Ambulance Service Trust crews continued to treat both men on site.
