Police are seeking information about a white van seen in the village of Carlton last week.

A house was broken into at Beeby Way, Carlton sometime between 5.30pm on Wednesday, February 5 and 10.30pm the next day.

While the owner was out, a brick was used to smash the patio doors and a search of the house resulted in the burglars getting away with a small Dab radio and jewellery.

The jewellery includes some distinctive wooden giraffe earrings, a 1940s plain gold ring in a dark

blue velvet-lined box, a gold and white bracelet about one inch wide, a long string of pink faux pearls

and a brown and silver necklace with ball-shaped beads.

Neighbours have reported seeing a white Transit van driving round recently, seemingly acting suspiciously.

investigating officer Det Con Emma Langwith would like to hear from anyone who has seen this vehicle in the village, or has information, or taken the registration number of any other vehicles that seem to be out of place or suspicious.

She can be reached directly at Bedford CID on 01234 275225, or via the 24-hour non-emergencypolice number 101, text the control room direct on 07786 200011.
