It’s a tale of two cities for Bedford artist Sue Hall in November when her dramatic and colourful abstract paintings go on display in galleries in Lisbon, Portugal and central London.
This Saturday, November 1, sees the opening of an exhibition of eight of Sue’s paintings at Colorida Gallery in the picturesque and historic Castelo de Sao Jorge area of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The exhibition itself will run until November 14 but several of Sue’s works will remain on display until January next year.
And on Thursday November 8, Gallery Argentum is staging its first London exhibition – Beyond White Walls – at the High Holborn showrooms of KI Europe, part of one of the world’s largest furniture and accessory suppliers to the international architect and interior designer community, with Sue’s City Nights 1 being one of the featured artworks on display.
Sue, of Thor Drive, Bedford, nearly made it a November hat-trick with an invitation to exhibit at Edinburgh Art Festival in the Scottish capital.
She said: “Unfortunately, I had to turn it down on this occasion because of preparations for Lisbon and London - maybe next year.”
Sue’s unique and imaginative work is fast gaining an international reputation. She has exhibited at La Galleria Pall Mall in London and been invited to shows in Berlin, Monaco and Vienna. She was a semi-finalist in the Saatchi Online gallery’s Showdown competition in May 2013.
Sue added: “It is very satisfying and encouraging to have my work recognised here and around the world.”
Sue will also be the subject of a multi-page feature in the next edition of leading online creative arts magazine Niji –nijimagazine.com
