The team at Ark-H Handling Ltd have raised funds for several charities by hosting a Christmas market and hog roast at their premises on the Wilstead Industrial Estate, raising just over £3,000 with more donations flowing in.
The company’s sales and marketing team wanted to host another event to raise money for other worthwhile causes following a successful festive market in 2013 at which more than £5,000 was raised for the Disaster’s Emergency Committee (DEC) to go toward the Phillipeans Typhoon Appeal.
This year they have supported several charities that they work with including Keech Cottage, RSPB, SANDs, Breast Cancer Care, Movember and this year their headline charity, A Child Unheard, which supports children in Uganda by setting up schools and other facilities.
The market on December 11 had 12 stalls selling everything from decorations to cakes and other items generously donated by clients.
Neil Horton, sales and marketing manager at Ark-H, said: “The day was a great success. All of our staff were involved in some way and helped to make the day full of festive fun. We are so grateful to everyone who donated and raised money for this wonderful cause.”
