A team of Chelsea Pensioners took on the players at Bedford Priory Bowls Club.
Arriving in their famous scarlet jackets, along with Colonel Mark Baker, they were joined by the Mayor of Bedford, Dave Hodgson, picture centre. Tea was served and after a fun day of matches, a social gathering was held with drinks and cake. Each player was presented with a miniature whiskey and tumbler from the club, who also presented a book on Bedford, signed by the Mayor and Priory Club members. Organiser Robert Keech donated a cheque last year when the club visited the Royal Chelsea Hospital and presented another during the visit, on Wednesday, July 27.
