A charity that supports older people is on the lookout for new volunteers.

The WRVS, which helps thousands of older people to live independently in their homes, is looking to recruit volunteers for its Home From Hospital and Good Neighbours schemes in Bedford.

A charity spokesman said: “Anyone over the age of 16 can join us and the great thing about volunteering is that it’s so flexible that you can fit it in around all of the other things that you have to do.

“Whether you can spare a few hours once a week, fortnight or each month we would really like to hear from you and will have an opportunity for you which will enable you to make an important contribution to the work that we carry out.

“We know that volunteering with WRVS can make a very real positive difference to both the people that we help and the volunteers themselves.

“It is flexible, rewarding and great fun and a great way to help out in your local community.

“Full training and induction is provided and travel expenses are paid.
