A pub in Biddenham is celebrating an entry in the prestigious Michelin Guide 2015.
The Three Tuns, owned by Chris Smith who is also head chef, has a listing in the annual publication which reviews restaurants, hotels and pubs.
The listing says: “Set in a leafy suburb, if you’re lost, look up above the rooftops for the majestic canadian redwood tree. It’s part 16th century and part 19th, with a lovely terrace, cooking is classical, seasonal and everything is homemade.”
Chris, who trained at Paris House, Woburn, and with Jean Christophe Novelli, runs the pub with a team of four in the kitchen and staff running front of house.
He said: “We have been working hard over the last few years and this is a great achievement to be in the guide.”
>> Over at the Bedford Arms in Bromham Road, Bedford, Tony Lachacz has taken over running the popular pub and celebrated with customers with a party on Thursday, October 9.
>> The Fox and Hounds on Goldington Road, Bedford, has re-opened after a major transformation giving the popular local pub a more modern look.
The work was carried out in 12 days and has included complete redecoration of the main bar and function room in contemporary colours and styles, and modernisation of the toilet facilities.
A new menu and improved TV facilities also await customers.
Pub manager Joanne Dudley said: “The pub was in need of a bit of a refresh and the development was just the job. The difference it has made is amazing. We managed to keep disruption to a minimum during the work and are now looking forward to showing our customers all the new changes.”
