A charity calendar featuring stunning pictures from Central Bedfordshire has been created to raise money and awareness of dementia.
The calendar features 12 pictures taken by residents across the area and is being sold to raise funds for Council Chairman Cllr Caroline Maudlin’s chosen charity the Alzheimer’s Society, which supports those affected by the disease.
The council’s communications team searched through a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Flickr, Instagram and Pinterest to find the 12 photographs of Central Bedfordshire which feature in the calendar.
They cover all parts of Central Bedfordshire, including Dunstable, Woburn, Biggleswade, Silsoe and Flitwick. The calendar costs £5 and went on sale from Monday, December 1 at the 12 libraries in Central Bedfordshire.
Cllr Maudlin said: “Thank you so much to all our residents who allowed us to use their photographs. Every penny of profit raised through this calendar will go to the Alzheimer’s Society which does a tremendous job in leading the fight against dementia.
“The calendar will make a great Christmas gift as well as supporting the many families who are affected by Alzheimer’s, and I would like to urge our residents to get a copy.”
