Air Cadets from across Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire have enjoyed an action packed week on their annual Easter Camp.

The camp was held at the Stanford Training Area, otherwise known as STANTA, in Norfolk and attended by 300 cadets and 70 members of volunteer staff.

A wide variety of activities were on offer to the cadets aged between 13 and 20 years old.

The main activity of the week was the 36-hour exercise which saw cadets deploy into the field living in shelters they had built themselves and eating military rations. Various activities such as a first aid scenario were completed during the exercise which was designed to test the cadet’s leadership, teamwork and ingenuity along with skills they learn as a cadet.

Other activities during the week included; orienteering, raft building, radio training, climbing and command tasks. A highlight of the week for many cadets was being able to abseil down from the 35 metre (115 feet) high artillery observation tower.
