Love Bedford - the initiative promoting the town to visitors - has a new look website. has been launched this week by the Business Improvement District (BID) in time for Valentine’s Day.

The website gives an overview of what to do on a trip to Bedford and goes into detail about the hundreds of businesses which operate within the BID zone of the town centre.

BedfordBID is funded by 575 businesses who pay a levy, according to size, to promote the town and provide a welcoming environment for visitors.

Backed by the BID board of real businesses, the website is the only one dedicated to promoting the town centre to tourists.

Director Christina Rowe said: “This website is a central platform for our town’s offer and for businesses within that town.

“It is linked directly to our Love Bedford app which contains offers from BID zone businesses and is also aligned with our social media on Facebook and Twitter.

“It is compatible with smart phones and tablets and will enable anyone, anywhere to get a good look at Bedford. It will also support our customer research and targeted marketing so enabling us to offer yet more help to individual businesses as well as the town as a whole.

“Only businesses know what works best for them and the BID is the champion of town centre businesses.”

“As months go by will become a central signposting site for anyone who wants to know what’s on, the arts, history, and what sort of town they will be coming to if they choose to live here.

“Investment by home owners and businesses in critical to the success of the town centre and we want to make sure that anyone from London or Cambridge thinking of moving to Bedford thinks there is a lot to Love about Bedford.”
