Youngsters’ chance to re-brand Aspects

Students across Bedford will get the chance to flex their creative muscles, by helping to re-invent Aspects Leisure Centre.

Students have been invited to submit their ideas for a new name and logo for the leisure facility, as part of a series of improvements that are being planned there.

The competition will be split into three age groups, and winners in each will be given Cineworld tickets plus a goodie bag.

And the overall winner will work alongside the designers in realising their ideas for the brand, while their school will get £250 for art supplies.

Mayor of Bedford Dave Hodgson, who will be one of the competition judges, said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing the range of ideas the students produce for the new name and logo for Aspects.

“The investment in an improved Aspects Leisure Park will be a very positive development for Bedford, and it’s great that young people in the borough will have the chance to play a key role in it through this competition.”

Aspects will soon see an extension and refurbishment of the existing Cineworld cinema, with three more screens, including digital and 3D, and better seating. Other changes will include a wider choice of restaurants and cafes, and improvements to both the appearance of the leisure park and its links to the riverside.

It is currently home to the cinema, plus Club 2000 Bingo, Fitness First, Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, and Coffee Republic.

Entries close on November 5.
