FROM a hobby that became a business based in a family bungalow, to a firm with superb facilties and four sites across the region, the White Arches Caravan Group has seen huge changes over the last four decades.

And this year the firm will reach its 40th anniversary as one of the best and most respected caravan and motorhome dealerships in the country.

Joint managing director Steve Sharpe said: “We offer our customers all the leading brands of caravan and motorhome in the UK displayed in superb facilities.

“Our philosophy has always been to provide a very friendly and professional approach and provide the best advice to achieve the right vehicle for our customers wants and requirements.

“Both Nick’s family and my own have always enjoyed the freedom and adventure that a caravan or motorhome holiday offers and sharing our experiences with our customers and seeing the great benifits our customers get from their caravan or motorhome holiday is great.”

The firm began as a family-run concern from the Rushden home of Peter and Norma Sharpe.

Their home gave the business its name, but within three months they moved to larger commercial premises elsewhere in the town.

Today there are three site across the area, plus more than 70 members of staff. The joint managing directors are Steve Sharpe and his brother-in-law Nick White, along with their wives Diane Sharpe and Jo White.

With superb facilities offering dedicated indoor showroom displays and extensive workshop facilities as well as ‘Archies’ coffee shop and in recent years expanding to include a fantastic dedicated Motorhome Branch.

And White Arches was the first dealer to offer an exclusive manufacturer special edition caravan. Called The Archway it is now a prestigious brand in its own right.

To celebrate the anniversary White Arches is running a 40th anniversary grand prize draw where 40 lucky winners will share 40 great prizes worth in total over £5,000.

Entry is free online at www.white-arches.co.uk or you can also enter by attending the firm’s 2012 Caravan and Motorhome Show at either its Rushden or Wellingbough branches on the weekend of February 3-5. Entry is free and there will be free refreshments and great show offers.
