Leading specialist Professor Rob Thomas from the Primrose Unit at Bedford Hospital will be presenting at a business event in town next week.
He will be a guest at the Bedfordshire BusinessWomen special meeting to be held on Thursday, January 16 at Bedford Rugby Club - and men are invited.
The event entitled ‘Here Come The Boys’ will include a line-up of special guests to include the county’s Lord Lieutenant Helen Nellis, High Sheriff Deborah Inskip and Chief Constable Colette Paul.
BBW President and business woman, Emma Garrett, said: “Most of our events are for business women only but January’s event is an open networking for everyone.
“We are expecting a really big turnout, particularly given that Professor Thomas will be presenting, and we are encouraging lots of men to come along. This is a charity event and all proceeds will be donated to the Research and Education Fund at Bedford Hospital’s Primrose Unit.”
The event will focus on both mental and physical well-being.
Consultant oncologist, Prof Rob Thomas, who works at both Addenbrooke’s and Bedford Hospital, is a leading figure and published author on the subject of healthy living.
In addition to being a media spokesman for Macmillan Cancer Relief and giving live interviews for the national media, including The London programme, Panorama, BBC News, Radio 4 and News Night with Jeremy Paxman, Prof Thomas is now editorial advisor for the Channel 4 series The Food Doctor with Dr Pixie Mckenna.
