Center Parcs has appointed the general manager of its new Woburn Forest leisure site, ahead of its opening in 18 months.
Wayne Matton has taken up the reins after working for the firm for the past 12 years.
In his new role he will be involved in the recruitment of the 1,500 staff who will work at the new village, and will help to plan for the operational elements of the project. Once it opens he will responsible for the day to day running of Center Parcs’ fifth UK village.
He said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to this role and I am already busy preparing for the operational side of the project.
“With construction now underway, I’ll be working to ensure we have everything in place and the best team alongside me to deliver a truly memorable family short break experience to every guest when we open our doors to guests in 18 months time.”
Work has already started at the £252million Center Parcs development, which is slated to create 1,200 jobs during the construction phase.
A further 1.500 jobs are expected to be created for its opening in spring 2014.
