Firms in Queens Park, Bedford, joined forces this week at an event to promote and boost business in the area.
A total of 25 businesses in Queens Park attended an event to showcase their individual firms on Tuesday at the Havelock Street car park.
The event was organised by Eric Massih who is also general secretary of Bedfordshire Asian Business Association and runs his own business, Gold Crown Estate Agents.
Eric said: “The event went really well. All of the businesses in Queen Park attended.
“We had a talk from each business and there were different food stalls offering samples of all our different cultures represented in Queens Park.”
Eric has now started a group called Queens Park Business Community in a bid to promote businesses in Queens Park.
Mayor of Bedford Dave Hodgson attended the event and promised to support the intiative.
The next event is due to be held at Bedford Borough Council.
Eric added: “There are so many different types of businesses in Queens Park. I just really wanted to bring everyone together and try to encourage people from Bedford and Luton to visit us.
“I’m involved in the Bedfordshire Asian Business Association, but that tends to be businesses in bigger areas like Bedford and Luton.
“I just really want to draw attention to all the different types of shops we have here in Queens Park.”
