Builder Anthony Crowther has been named Bedford’s Best Darting Tradesman after builders merchant Gibbs & Dandy ran a three-week long competition in-store.
Gibbs & Dandy in Barkers Lane, Bedford, saw over fifty customers enter the nine-dart challenge before Christmas with Anthony from EJ Chappell coming out on top with an impressive score of 316 to claim the title. He also won a dart board signed by five time World Champion Eric Bristow, along with a set of darts and two tickets for a leading local PDC darts event.
Anthony said: “I’m made up to be named Bedford’s Best Darting Tradesman - there was lots of competition to see off and I wasn’t sure I’d pull it off.
“I’m really pleased with the great prizes but the best one is definitely money-can’t-buy - lifelong bragging rights down the pub!” Store manager, Pat Duffy, said: “We thought the tournament would be a bit of fun for local tradesmen but never expected it to be quite so popular.
“It was great to see customers really get into it, with lots of competitive banter flying around alongside the darts! Congratulations to Anthony, it was very well-deserved.”
