A connection between Bedford and the world famous statue of Eros in Piccadilly Circus in London is made in this weekend’s guided walk.
The walk, led by the Bedford Association of Tour Guides, is entitled I Never Knew That, revealing some of the town’s hidden features.
The town centre has many stories that will only be revealed by members of the association as they lead this enormously popular walk.
John Howard, the famous prison reformer and once High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, had a very strong personal believe that “no-one was all bad and that if you looked closely at even the most evil person you would actually find some good in them.”
This belief has actually been encapsulated into Howard’s statue on the Market Square and the walk will reveal how this has been done.
The guided walk is due to leave the Tourist Information Centre in St Paul’s Square at 11am on Sunday.
Pre-booking is essential so call the centre on 01234 718112 to reserve your place. The price is £3 for adults and £1.50 for children.
