Tennis stars of the future from Polam School had a special guest when Cathie Sabin, president of the Lawn Tennis Association, paid a visit.

Cathie, the first female president of the LTA, was given a tour of the school by two older pupils and then all the children who have tennis coaching at school, ranging from 3 to 8 years of age, had an opportunity to ask Cathie about her career, spanning 62 years of playing tennis, at a specially arranged Q&A session in the sports hall.

Cathie treated the children to lots of fabulous stories about Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams, and brought along a replica of the Davis Cup to show everyone.

Pupils can have tennis coaching from age 3 at early morning or after school clubs. Intensive tennis coaching courses are also available during the school holidays for any children in the Bedford area who attend Polam Holiday Club.
