SUPERMARKET giant Tesco has announced plans to turn the Bird in Hand Pub in Brickhill into an express store and residents are being asked to give their views.
This will be the seventh Tesco store in Bedford.
Councillors Wendy Rider and Charles Royden have expressed concerns over the plans and are inviting residents to attend a public meeting on August 17.
The event will be a chance to for local shopkeepers and residents to air their views and to discuss a way forward in opposing the scheme and support each other in the campaign.
The meeting, which is open to everyone, will be held at St Mark’s Church Community Centre, in Calder Rise from 7.30pm.
