Big sheep hunt is on for National Libraries Day

This year’s National Libraries Day falls on Saturday, February 7 and is a chance for people of all ages to show their love for their local library.

From Saturday, everyone is invited to join The Big Sheep Hunt and find one of the woolly friends which have been hidden somewhere at each library.

Whoever guesses all five of their names will be in with a chance to win one of the sheep, as lovingly knitted by the Putnoe Library ‘Knit and Natterers’.

As part of this fantastic celebration of libraries, you can pop into Bedford Central Library and leave a ‘Message in a Book’ for another library user, or take a library ‘shelfie’ and let us know what you use the library for by tweeting us @BedsLibraries #NLD15.

Mayor of Bedford Borough Dave Hodgson said: “Libraries are a genuine local community hub and are unique in the way that they can capture anyone’s imagination. Libraries have fiction and non-fiction books on a vast range of subjects, alongside DVDs, CDs, internet access and other resources for everyone to use and enjoy. There’s so much going in Bedford Borough’s libraries, with something for everyone, and I urge everyone to pop along and see what they have to offer for you.”
