A year 12 student at Biddenham Upper School has raised £125 for homeless people in Bedford with an Easter raffle.

Chidera Alzoie, pictured right, decided to raise funds as part of a leadership activity for the Kings Arms Project in Bedford which provides accommodation and night shelter for homeless people. A group of students donated Easter egg prizes and sold raffle tickets to staff and students.

Tim Wright, from the project’s night shelter, visited to draw the winners and is pictured receiving the cheque.

Head teacher David Bailey said: “Our students are known for the help and support that they give to local causes and charities and this is another example of how they act on their own initiative to make a positive difference in the community.”
