Bedford’s culinary heritage will be celebrated in a new digital guide.

St Pancras International is launching The Great British Train Fare magazine, which celebrates the great destinations accessible from the London station.

It comes following a 10 week in-station celebration that has championed the European towns and cities that have left their mark on British culinary culture.

The free digital magazine has been curated by food critic and Great British Menu judge Matthew Fort and features a profile on Bedford, along with his recommendations on the best restaurants to visit whilst in town.

He said: “The Bedford markets really have established a name for themselves over the last few years, with their great offering of foods produced in Bedford and the surrounding area. It is great to visit the farmers market and know that you are feeding back in to the local economy when buying their produce. The next time I get a chance to head for Bedford, I’ll definitely visit the Riverside Grill and order up the crab and lobster burger.”

His top picks also include The Park and The Plough.

The guide, launching on Thursday, also contains recipes, along with top tips and interesting facts about Bedford.
