Bedford man remanded in custody after assault that left victim in ‘critical condition’

A Bedford man has been remanded into custody after an assault that has left the victim in a critical condition this week.

Police launched an investigation after a man was seriously assaulted in Tavistock Street, Bedford on Tuesday.

Matthew Mills, 46, of Clapham Road, Bedford, was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and criminal damage.

Mills has been remanded into custody pending a further court appearance next month.
