Bedford officially lit up for Christmas at a switch-on ceremony on Wednesday.

Olympic gold medal winning Olympian Etienne Stott of Bedford returned to his home town to turn on the festive display on The Embankment.

After the ceremony revellers were treated to a stunning fireworks display.
