A bedford schoolboy who has battled leukaemia met X Factor finalist Andrea Faustini in London this week.

Jack Burnett was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet X Factor finalist Andrea backstage after his performance at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday, December 9.

Eleven-year-old Jack, who is in remission from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, spent time with Andrea after his rendition of Hero at the annual Christmas with the Stars event hosted by blood cancer charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Jack said: “I was really excited and a bit nervous to meet Andrea but he was really friendly and nice. Everybody cheered very loudly when he sang earlier in the evening. I told him I would vote for him in the X Factor final!”

Andrea was introduced to the audience by his mentor Mel B and his performance was filmed as part of his homecoming to be shown during the live final this Saturday, December 13.

Jack was joined by his mum Erika when he met the show star.
