Local band Bubounce have a busy weekend in store when they headline two top events – the Little Gransden Air and Car Show and the St Neots Dragon Boat Festival.

Fresh from a successful show at the VW White Noise Festival in Norfolk where the band took the event by storm playing in front of thousands of people, Bubounce are back on local ground this weekend.

The eight-piece SKA band have had a recent change to their line-up and have brought in a new trombone player to complete their brass section.

Bubounce are now made up of band creator Ian Taylor on bass, singers Simon Baker and Pete Skoludek-Taylforth, guitarists Nathan Bascom and Jack Littlechild, drummer Aidan Davey, sax player Johnny Diggle and trombone player Ben Bouzan.

Bringing fourth generation ‘hipster’ SKA to the stage, the band always entertains and gets everyone up and dancing – you don’t even have to be a SKA fan to enjoy this band.

They have attracted a huge following locally in the Bedfordshire area and they are now spreading their wings and have secured gigs further afield, including Manchester and Norfolk.

Their set list is mainly comprised of covers that they have put their own unique twist on, but also includes a couple of their own original songs they have written.

Their cover songs range from Madness and The Specials to Toots and Maytals and everything in between.

Bubounce not only sing but they put on a great show at every gig and come off the show big sweaty messes – ensuring everyone is having a good time.

Ian Taylor, 35, who put the band together and plays bass, said: “We are really looking forward to this weekend, we’re headlining two fantastic local events and hope to put on a great show for all the family.

“Things are going really well for us at the moment, we’re nearly booked up until Christmas and even have gig booked in for next year already - and we’re starting to play weddings and functions too which we’re really keen to do more of.

“Come down this weekend for some great family fun and some live music.”

Bubounce are playing at St Neots Dragon Boat Race on Regatta Meadow on Saturday evening and

the Gransden air show on Sunday.
