A teacher spent the day trying to give her pupils 'the slip' by dressing as a banana for Sport Relief.

Scott Lower School’s Karen Wallbank, an experienced runner, donned the crazy costume for the Chase the Banana fun run.

The whole school took part and raised more than £800 for the charity.

The School, in Hawk Drive, Bedford, also held a cake sale and pupils were able to attend in non-uniform for the day.

Headteacher Mrs Anita Barker said: “It’s not just the children who enjoy getting involved in good causes. It was a fun day for everyone.”
