Attempted murder case is sent to crown court

A woman who appeared in court charged with attempted murder has been remanded in custody.

Charlene Brown, 32, of St Augustine’s Road, Bedford, was arrested after emergency services were called to reports that a man in his 30s had been stabbed in the town’s Charnwood Avenue at about 1.30pm on bank holiday Monday.

Two ambulances, two rapid response vehicles, three ambulance officers and the charity-run Magpas team medical car attended the scene and treated the man.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Ms Brown’s case has been sent to Luton Crown Court and she has been remanded in custody.

A date for the court hearing has not yet been set.
