Appeal after woman is attacked by a cyclist

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted by a cyclist in Bedford on Monday, June 8.

The attack happened as she was walking in Longholme Way; an altercation took place and the man then assaulted her with his bike, causing injury.

PC Darren Bambury said: “We would like to speak to anyone who could help us identify the cyclist or who witnessed the incident.

“The man is black, in his 30s, approximately 5ft 10in, of athletic build, with short black hair. He is described as having an artificial right leg from the knee down, with a metal foot. He was wearing an orange lycra top and wearing a mountain bike style cycle hat.”
