A Bedford couple raised £525 by celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary in unconventional style.
Managing director of Auto Windscreens, Chris Thornton, and his wife Sue marked 24 years of marriage on June 7 by taking on the 100km Nightrider cycle challenge in London.
Setting off at 11pm and finishing at the Olympic Velodrome in the early hours, the keen cyclists tackled city traffic and even the odd fox in a bid to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Chris said: “This is a cause close to our hearts as family and friends have battled and are battling the disease.
“We’re both keen cyclists but Nightrider was a real challenge.
“We’ve decided we’ll probably celebrate our anniversary next year in a more conventional way!”
