Rail enthusiasts have a unique opportunity to join a charity fund raising charter tour from Bedford to Blackfriars on board a Class 319.

Thameslink train planner Matthew Dodds has organised the trip with the Branch Line Society as a thanks to two hospitals that separately saved the lives of his father-in-law and brother.

The Class 319 ‘Thameslink Tracker’ takes in the sought-after Bedford Cauldwell Depot, Bedford Jowett Sidings, Luton Crescent Road and Herne Hill Sidings as its main highlights, on Sunday, July 12.

Tickets are £75 and all profits will be split between The Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital, Harefield Hospital and Max Appeal.

Max Appeal helps children with the genetic condition ‘22QDS’, including nine-year-old Adam Tripp, son of Great Northern driver Mark Tripp.
