A theatre school run for youngsters in Bedford is inviting new talent to join in holiday workshops.
Act One Theatre School is run for children and young people based at The Place Theatre in Bradgate Road.
The school, which opened in September 2002, has been running successfully since then. There are three sessions each Saturday during term time, one each for juniors, intermediates and seniors.
A spokeswoman said: “Under the personal supervision of Sally Hammelev the school has continued to grow and prides itself on its high standards and reputation.”
Students from the school were entered into 14 classes at this year’s Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama and were placed 10 times, with either a 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
As well as classes which include drama games, exercises, improvisation and scripted work, students are also given the opportunity to study for acting examinations set by The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
Act One also offers holiday courses and there is still time to book for this summer’s course being held from August 11 – 15 at The Place Theatre, Bedford.
The new term begins on Saturday, September 6 and there is a free taster session for anyone thinking of joining.
