It was a recipe for success when the team at Bedford solicitors Emmott Snell put on their aprons and got baking last week.

Their sale of homemade sponges, cupcakes and biscuits raised more than £200 for the Eastern Legal Support Trust, which funds free legal advice in the Eastern region of the UK, including law centres and free legal advice centres which have had to fill the void left from cuts to legal aid in recent years.

The surplus cakes were donated to the Friday ‘soup run’ at De Parys Avenue, Bedford.

Principal Tracey Emmott said: “We are delighted to contribute in this small way to helping enable some of the most vulnerable in our society gain access to justice, at a time when legal services are squeezed more than ever.”
