  • Youngsters also learnt about where their food comes from

Three cub packs from Flitwick Scout Group got a behind the scenes tour of Tesco.

The boys and girls aged eight to 10 got the chance to see bread making machines in action, tasted cheeses from around the world and took a peek inside the storage freezers.

They were also tasked with finding the ingredients to make bread and then had to find out which fish came from the river and which came from the sea.

They also had to discover which countries various fruits and vegetables came from and how they grew during the Flitwick store visit.

Claire Langridge, a volunteer with the scout group, said: “Not only was the tour interesting for the young people, it also made the adults and young leaders think about where their food comes from.”
