The gold winning medalist back in her hometown tomorrow
Golden girl Victoria Pendleton is set to return to Stotfold this weekend - despite not even having time to appear on BBC1 with Jonathan Ross!
The 27-year-old who won the gold medal in the Women's Sprint last month in the Beijing Olympics Games, is now wanted by national media across the country.
But the down to earth cyclist has not forgotten her roots and will be back in her hometown to meet town councillors, despite not even having enough time to appear on Jonathan Ross' BBC1 chat show.
Dad Max said: "She was due to appear on Jonathan Ross, but the show was running late and she had a prior appointment with the Sony music awards, which she had agreed to go on, so she had to dash out to get to the awards.
"It's completely mad for her at the moment."
Victoria will meet town council chairman Brian Collier who will give a presentation and congratulate the medalist on her success.
But it will just be a flying visit as the cyclist is back in full time training in Manchester, which she hasn't had a break from for 12 months, as well as making countless television appearances and interviews.
Mr Pendleton added: "She's been on Question of Sport, Jonathan Ross, her life just seems to be on a run at the moment, it's hard for me to keep track of what she's up to.
"Her profile just keeps going up and up, which is great and after all her hard work she does really deserve to be recognised."
The top cyclist will be at the Memorial Hall on Sunday from 2pm till 4pm.
