Unusual pets stolen from Campton couple

Pet shop owners and reptile enthusiasts are urged to be on the lookout for two stolen tortoises.

The unusual Greek Herman tortoises, called Tilly and Tort, were stolen during a burglary at a property in Gravenhurst Road, Campton, between 8am and 3pm today (Friday, October 3).

Tilly and Tort are fully grown and are of considerable sentimental value to the owners.

They are particularly concerned the offenders, who also escaped with cash, may not know how to look after their pets, which need a special diet and a temperature controlled environment.

Anyone with information about the tortoises, or who saw anything suspicious in the Campton area, should contact the officer in the case, Pc Kirsty Butchart, on 01234 841212 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
