50-year-old suffered serious head injuries when a car and bicycle collided

A man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after a cyclist and car collided in Bedford.

Emergency services were called to Needwood Road, at 5.10pm yesterday (August 4).

Magpas Helimedix Doctor Vijayasankar and Paramedic Dan Cody arrived in Bedford in the Magpas Rapid Response BMW.

They assessed a man in his 50s, who had suffered a serious head injury.

The Magpas team anaesthetised the patient and provided specialist A&E care at the scene, before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance.

On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew, the Police, and a Community First Responder were also on the scene.
