£1million Lottery cash for Cauldwell and Kingsbrook
Bedford areas scoop windfall
1million in Lotto funding is to be directed to Cauldwell and Kingsbrook but it has not yet been decided what projects the cash will be spent on.
The Bedford area is one of 50 communities in the country chosen for the first wave of funding.
A new charitable trust will now work with local people to decide how to put the funding to use.
Richard Fuller, MP for Bedford and Kempston, welcomed the news.
He said: "As a passionate supporter of voluntary groups and social enterprises, I am delighted that Kingsbrook and Cauldwell has been chosen by the Big Lottery.
"Over the coming months, I hope to hear the ideas of local groups and individuals in the area about how best to create long-term benefits from this funding."
