Jolly Topers FC completed a superb season with a 3-2 victory against Crawley Green in the South Beds Sunday League Invitation Cup at Ampthill.

A Kriss Miller brace and a Lee Hayward penalty secured the trophy for Topers who needed extra-time to claim victory, after the clash had finished 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Crawley started the stronger of the two sides and came close to opening the scoring on a couple of occasions before Ricky Dobbs hit the bar with a header.

Dobbs then had to leave the field following a clash of heads and Crawley made the most of their one-man advantage to take the lead through Lee George.

The second half saw Crawley reduced to 10 men when Dean Bradbury was dismissed for foul and abusive language to the referee and this was quickly followed by an equaliser from Miller.

Crawley regained their lead in extra-time from the penalty spot through Dan Foskett, before Miller levelled the scores for the second time.

Crawley substitute Leo Carroll was then red carded for retaliation and Green paid the price when, with time running out, Hayward fired home the winner from the penalty spot.

Club Lewsey sealed a league and cup double thanks to a stunning 5-2 win over Sandy Sunday in their Beds FA Sunday Cup final.

The win comes on the back of their championship winning season in the Playfootball.net North Home Counties Sunday League Premier Division, in which they went through the whole campaign unbeaten.

Both teams started brightly but it was Lewsey who took the lead on 13 minutes, following a mix-up in the Sandy defence.

The Michael R Peters League outfit equalised soon after but the Luton side regained the lead on the stroke of half time.

Things got even better for them 10 minutes after the break, before Sandy got themselves back to within a single goal just three minutes later.

Following more chances at both ends, Lewsey struck the killer blow on 77 minutes and added a fifth before the celebrations began.

Four Horseshoes FC, meanwhile, wrapped up a successful campaign with a 5-2 victory against Toddington FC in their final game of the season at the weekend.

Paul McEvoy led the way for Horseshoes with a hat-trick and he was joined on the scoresheet by Liam Duggan and Shane Scott.

As well as winning the Playfootball.net North Home Counties Sunday League Division Three title, Horseshoes also won the League Challenge Cup and reached the final of the Sunday Lower Junior County Cup.
