Former duo contact the Town about coming back

Old boys Rowan Vine and Ahmet Brkovic are both believed to be keen on a return to Kenilworth Road.

Insiders at the club have indicated they have been in touch about a return, but neither is likely to happen.

Manager Mick Harford was unaware of their interest, but believes the club is moving in the right direction.

He said: "I think former players and people who were associated with Luton can see things taking shape, but I haven't had any contact with former players."

Having captured Kevin Nicholls, Harford is looking to bring further players into the club, with a centre-forward and centre-half from Championship clubs set to join on loan.

With Nicholls' transfer and those of George Pilkington, Claude Gnakpa, Asa Hall and Ian Roper set to be ratified by the Football League, further signings are likely to follow.

Harford added: "It's just a matter of waiting.
"We've had enquiries in place for weeks but with the season nearly upon us it starts to take shape."

On the signings, Luton director Stephen Browne said: "At the moment there are two more that have gone into the League over and above those five."
