Luton and District Midweek Cricket League

A fine unbeaten 58 from Asif Hussain helped earn AKCC a nine-wicket victory over Shaheen in the Luton and District Midweek Cricket League Premier Division with more than four overs to spare.

Having won the toss and decided to bat, Shaheen could only make 91-6 from their 16 overs.

Mohammad Irshad went for just 13 runs off his four overs, while Mudassar Hussain took 3-12 off his allocation.

Man of the match Hussain was ably assisted in AKCC's reply by Mehmood Ali who hit an undefeated 29.

In Division One, Luton Majestic are hoping to be awarded victory against Houghton Town, who failed to show up for their game.

AKII, meanwhile, were made to work harder for their victory against Luton United.

United posted 102-5 from their 16 overs, while AKII bludgeoned their way home with 107-5.

Kingsway were awarded victory from their clash with Runley Hawks in Division Two after the hosts fielded unregistered players and failed to provide either a scorer or an umpire.

Hatters edged a close game against Saracens to claim victory with three wickets and one over to spare.

Saracens played well to make a competitive 115-7, but Hatters crept home with 116-8.

Elsewhere, Kingsway comfortably saw off Challney to triumph by eight wickets.

Batting first, Challney made 104-5, but 25 from Zahoor Rehman, coupled with unbeaten knocks of 41 and 19 from Atif Ali and Ubaid Hassan were enough for Kingsway to win.
