Dunstable Downs golfer in action at the PGA East Region Championship
Dunstable Downs Golf Club pro Darren Charlton recorded rounds of 67 and 71 to finish in a tie for fifth place at the PGA East Region Championship.
The event, which was held at Colchester GC in Essex, was won by Braintree's Paul Curry with a 12-under-par tally of 128, which secured him an emphatic five-shot victory.
Chelmsford's Andrew Pestell was second with 133 and Rayleigh's Mark Hooper was third, three shots further back.
Charlton was tied for fourth after the opening 18 holes, but did not fare as well on the second day.
With just two order of merit events remaining, Charlton is second to Brett Taylor in the standings.
The end of season play-offs take place at Royal Liverpool GC on October 21-22.
