LEISURE: Sign up now for soccer tournament
Memorial sports event seeks teams for August event.
Organisers of an annual football tournament in memory of a Luton man who died in a road traffic accident in 2001 are looking for teams to enter.
Mandip Mudhar was only 20 when he was in the New Year's Day crash.
The former Challney Boys and Luton Sixth Form College pupil died six days after the accident and his family donated three of his organs to others in need.
The Mandip Mudhar Memorial Tournament aims to raise cash for local charities, bring diverse communities together and raise importance of organ donation within ethnic minorities.
Each year the event has raised more cash and attracted teams from all over the south.
Last year the organisers managed to donate 1,000 to Keech Cottage and the winners were local team Marsh Farm.
The six-a-side tournament on August 14 will be supported by Bedfordshire FA and will take place at the Vauxhall Recreation Ground.
Mandip was a keen footballer who played for Farley Eagles and supported West Ham.
Entry fee for the tournament is 65 and registration and payment details are online at www.mmmf.org.uk.
Alternatively people can call the following numbers for information: Bobby 07979 798528 or Shahaid on 07915 971035.
Cash raised will go to Keech Cottage and other smaller charities such as Friends of Blue Eyes who provide care for disabled and less able children.
