Well stone me - check out the artist at Bedford School

editorial image

A fine art sculptor visited Bedford School last week, to give sixth form students an insight into his work.

Nicolas Moreton, who has been described as “a modern master in the medium of stone carving,” spent the day with Upper Sixth art students, sharing his experience and skills as they worked to create their own sculptures.

He said: “Despite the inclement weather the boys in the workshop showed great appreciation and enthusiasm towards carving and through taking part immediately gained a deeper knowledge and respect for this medium.

“The workshop itself seems to have created a buzz about the department with other boys wanting to see if they can have the opportunity to carve which I am sure will be possible with the support of such forward thinking staff.”
