Diamond Des shows he's still got the magic

Legendary performer comes to Bedford

There is no other word for it - this man is a British entertainment legend.

It's been more than 40 years since the icon that is Des O'Connor first graced our television screens and started on the path to showbusiness infamy.

The internationally acclaimed star of stage and screen, who has played to sell out crowds in Las Vegas' MGM Grand, Sydney Opera House and has made more than 1,000 solo appearances at the London Palladium, now comes to Bedford Corn Exchange.

With more than 16 million record sales and 35 albums, it's sure to be an evening of comedy, music and celebrity chat.

A constant presence on TV, he co-hosted the award-winning ITV daily celebrity talk show Today With Des & Mel, starred in a number of pime-time one off specials and since January 2007 he's taken over the helm of the hugely popular words and numbers quiz Countdown.

A man of many talents he also runs his own production company and received the Special Recognition Award at the National TV Awards in 2001.

We could go on telling you about Des' long list of achievements, but all you really need to know is he's appearing at Bedford Corn Exchange on Thursday, October 22.

The show kicks off at 7.30pm and tickets cost 21. For more information call 01234 269519 or visit www.bedfordcornexchange.co.uk
