A top show - or is it an illusion?

Fringe favourite The Event comes to Bedford for one night only

Like most of the best things in life the thinking behind the highly acclaimed show The Event, coming to Bedford for one night only, is simple.

Stand-up deconstructed – The Man stands in a pool of light on the stage. He is an actor.

We know he is an actor because he tells us so, but also because our past experience tells us that this is what actors do.

He appears to be intelligent, but this might just be clever direction.

The Event is an acclaimed, beautifully conceived piece of theatre which delivers a profound, thought-provoking experience and received rave reviews at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, winning a Fringe First Award.

The Event skilfully and comically deconstructs the theatrical experience while offering a parallel with the trials of modern life.

What if everything we believe and experience is an illusion – designed to make us forget all that's important.

American actor John Robert Paisley, of the Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre in Kansas City, performs for one night only tomorrow, Friday, at The Place in Bedford, in a unique and unmissable opportunity to see this wonderful show.

Tickets cost 7.50, concessions 6. The show runs for 65 minutes, with no interval.

For more information and tickets cost 01234 269519.
