FROM gnarled rock and roll legends like Wilko Johnson and Eddie And The Hot Rods to Bedford’s own blues belter Cherry Lee Mewis, the line-up for this year’s Rhythm Festival is being fine tuned.

The annual extravaganza, which now takes place at Old Warden Park in east Bedfordshire, will be spread over two stages on the weekend of August 24-26.

And this year it will also expand to include two new events on the same site - Rhythm Folk and Rhythm & Blues - which will each have their own areas, dominated by two huge big-top stages.

Camping and lots of other attractions across the three events will be shared.

So far the line-up includes the likes of The Damned, The Strawbs, Hawkwind and Three Bonzos & A Piano,

Additional attractions will include entry for all ticket-holders to Fringe Theatre performances in the The Old Dick Theatre, a huge programme of literary and poetry events, the return of the free solar-powered cinema the Groovy Movie Picture House, and children’s entertainment including Panic Circus and the Junior (London) Olympics.

Early bird weekend tickets for the festival cost £99, plus £36 per tent, and £50 per campervan or caravan. Child and day tickets are also available.

For more information visit www.rhythmfestival.com or call the ticket hotline on 01767 626 262.
