HAVE you seen, have you heard? Iconic images of Manchester’s famous sons The Stone Roses are coming to Bedford.

From June 1 Rock City Art, in Bedford’s Castle Quay will play host to the works of award winning photographer Ian Tilton.

The series of instantly recognisable images document the rise of the recently-reformed band from obscurity in 1987 to global domination in 1990.

Photographer Ian lived in the same area of Manchester as the band and began his career around the time that they were truly taking off.

He said: “We bonded on our first shoot together as none of us wanted to create something boring.

“We held a mutual appreciation of creating something conceptually different.”

During his career Ian has photographed some of the world’s most famous acts including Iggy Pop, Gun N Roses, The Smiths, Nirvana and U2.

His shot of a tearful Kurt Cobain was hailed by Q Magazine was recently named as one of the six most iconic photographs of all time.

The free exhibition will also be accompanied by a seminar hosted by Ian on June 2 in which he will share the stories behind the photographs.

Tickets for the seminar event cost £15 and tickets are strictly limited.
