I recently attended the restaurant for a works' xmas do, where on arriving to our table, which we'd reserved, they didnt have enough seats for it, plus no accomodation for one of us who was in a wheelchair. After having to wait ages to get served, we then ordered, but then waited ages again between courses...where then on getting the bill they hadnt factored in the fact we'd already paid the deposits and that there was only 16 of us, and not 17, (which is how many people they tried to charge us for), where we had to then dispute the bill and work it all out ourselves as they couldn't seem to. They still had the cheek to charge us for the 'service charge' even though we were there 30 minutes after we'd finished, trying to sort out and agree out own bill with them ! Rather shambolic overall...but again, the foods not bad...

This restaurant is a novelty for Bedford. Its always busy with mums, office types and senior citizens at lunch. I have visited with my mum and kids many times and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I don't think anybody else does anything like them. They have the good old steaks and burgers but also their own grilled take on many other things. As i tend to go often with my children at lunch i opt for their light lunch menu, the fishcakes and green curry are addictive, the merguez sausage and mash is refreshing, as was the lamb cutlet and chickpea salad it replaced (this was my favourite, but they change their menu quite often). At £6 to include a glass of wine i find it remarkably well priced (especially as they feed the kids for free too with properly cooked food). The service staff are attentive and do their best to make you comfortable while trying to keep up with the office lunch rush. Only down side is lack of parking in close proximity. I went with the kids and disabled mother mum in law and received a parking ticket on a Sunday whilst parked outside, i wasn't too pleased. All in all though the restaurant is a great asset to Bedford, and well worth a trip if your looking for something completely different from the rest (apart from a sizzling Mexican next door), vibrant, unpretentious and value for money.

Having visited this restaurant on many occasions since it opened with and without my two small children my husband and I have enjoyed many a great meal here. I consider myself a regular as I now am greeted as such by the staff.
Having this restaurant as one of my favorites in Bedford I feel compelled to note that some of the comments on here are quite misleading I have had my children behave and I have had them not behave and like being any where with them in tow the staff here have always been welcoming and besides if I don't have to pay for them to eat the better!

I thought this was supposed to be a child friendly family restaurant. But don’t be fooled. If your children make a noise you will be asked to leave before you have finished your meal if someone else eating in the restaurant says they have an aversion to children.
Manager, I suggest you remove the Children’s menu and put up a notice declaring the fact that famililies with children who make any noise such as chatting to each other are not welcome and will be asked to leave. Star rating 0 out of five even though I have to leave one star.

I have visited this restaurant a number of times but on my last visit was appalled about the attitude of the staff. In a full restaurant with lots to children and babies at each table on the last day of the easter holidays. I was given no choice but to leave half way through our meal by the waitress after a complaint was made from another table. They said they didn’t want to lose their custom however were perfectly fine to insinuate that we should leave half way through our meal and with out my 1yr old baby, 7yr old niece, mum and myself finishing our lunch. They were excited and were not sitting in silence but certainly did not warrant this response from a venue that states it is family friendly. Which it is as long as your children are sitting in silence.

This place looked lovely although there is not much variety on the menu i went for the steak salad only to find a hair in it! the waitresses were not much help at all and my partner had finished his dinner before they came with the sauce he had ordered. would i go back – NO

Went here on Saturday as the wife had been with work friends, and had a great meal. Food choice was excellent with a good selection of meat and fish dishes. I had the steak with mediterranean vegetables which was fantastic and the wife had the giant king prawns with wild rice and dipping sauce. Two great meals. We shared the ice cream with giant cookies which was huge. Often bring customers into Bedford due to work and hope to come here again.

Unfortunately bad experience, despite high hopes. Attempted to order menu item without mayonnaise (as am allergic), and request was disregarded. When this was highlighted, the item was returned to the kitchen, the mayonnaise scraped off and the item returned, with most of the mayonnaise still in situ. When a further request was made it was met with derision. Fortunately there are superior establishments to choose from – but I was disappointed as I prefer to support local businesses.
